Notes

- Grabers were fugitives of Bern, Switz., went to Alsace, France & established themselves near Santa-Marie-Aux-Mines. They were driven out in 1712 by order of Louis XIV of France. They traveled northward & located in the township of Montbelaird, which at that time was part of Empire of Germany. Peter settled there in 1793 when he was 48 years old. He was an industrious man & purchased a large estate in Monteprevoir. Peter witnessed the recording of the birth of his granddaughter gr1561 at age 56.
